The Processes And Principles Of Psych-K

By Marcie Goodman

Psych-K is used to deal with limiting subconscious beliefs. It has been in existence for many years and is a result of years of research and practical experience in sessions with individuals and groups. Changing subconscious beliefs that can sabotage your conscious goals is similar to reprogramming a personal computer. The processes used operate like a kind of keyboard whereby you can access your subconscious, changing beliefs quickly and creating permanent change.

Modern industrialized culture has resulted in us losing our sense of interconnectedness. This has precipitated feelings of alienation and lack of purpose, affecting not only our self image and confidence but our relationships with others and our environment as well. The combination of modern neuroscience and ancient wisdom used in these self help techniques is designed to deal with these problems, freeing us to live life as it should be lived.

Our culture is programmed for competition instead of co-operation. Pitting of one individual against another has resulted in a separateness between us, far from the interconnectedness felt by ancient cultures. They regarded humans as part of a whole. Our current mindset of survival of the fittest has resulted in a sense of alienation, compromising physical, mental and spiritual health.

Unfortunately today our mindset tends to be one of survival of the fittest, encouraging separateness and greed. This has resulted in individuals suffering poor health, losing a sense of purpose and indulging in destructive behavior. The way we think individually needs to be elevated to a higher level, creating a more sustainable world for us all.

As beliefs, emotions and behavior originate in the subconscious mind, one needs to be able to access it to change these sabotaging beliefs into new positive ones. Other self help tools tend to focus on the conscious mind, leading to limited results. As we are only conscious of about five percent of our cognitive activity, affirmations, positive thinking and willpower are not really effective.

A key factor in making changes to the subconscious mind is the whole brain state. From a neuroscience perspective, the whole brain state makes the brain more efficient on both a conscious and subconscious level. It enhances creativity, improves problem solving and recall, improves emotional well being and enhances spiritual perception.

It is not difficult to access this state. Introductory lectures and basic workshops are held for those who are interested in making changes. Working with personal issues usually occurs in private sessions and only comes up in a workshop if a participant chooses to bring them up. A certified instructor is able to guide someone through the process in an interactive way.

Psych-K may provide answers for those who are continually battling with the same problems and never making progress. Self-esteem, physical health, relationships and finances are all affected by what is going on in the subconscious mind. Once any limiting beliefs are deal with all of these areas go through a transformation.
