Chronological Bible Reading Tips To Help You Grow Into A Good Christian

By Anita Ortega

Reading the Bible can help a Christian know more about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the concepts of life and death, life now and life to come. However, not many people are accustomed to the habit of chronological Bible reading, leave alone having a yearly plan to read from Genesis all the way through Revelation. This leaves everyone with the question as to whether it is possible to read the whole book or not.

Understanding the kingdom of God is somewhat tricky. Unless you are in the spirit, understanding the mind of God will never be easy for you. Understanding the mind of God means being able to read His word and understand the real message He intended to pass to human beings since the beginning of time.

Reading the Bible from Genesis all the way through Revelation can be fun for real. The good thing is that it is the only inspiring book that there ever was and always will be. It contains the inspiring messages about life on earth and life to come. The word of God is the only channel through which you get to know more about Jesus, the Son of the Almighty.

Start by praying every morning when you wake up. You can spend an hour or two for devotion either alone or with your whole family or go to a nearby church if you live around one. Ask God to fill you with the zeal to read His word on a regular basis so that you get to know about Him.

Make it your habit to read the scriptures given to you during the service. There are instances where your pastor will ask you to take some scriptures and read the at home. This is helpful as it will enable you to not only build passion for Bible reading but also become a regular reader with an understanding o f the essence of the word of God.

Join a Bible studies class and become a full time member so that you train how to read the word of God. This class is different from the normal Sunday service in the sense that rather than the pastor feeding you with the Gospel of the Kingdom of heaven, he or she teaches you how you can spend time with God by reading his word and praying to Him when at home, workstation or office.

Pray always. Pray when before you read the word of God and after reading it. This will help you to not only develop a passion for the scriptures but also have the zeal to read it more and more.

Always remember the scripture that talks about letting the word of God to dwell richly in you and as you pray and read, always have the desire to read along every day of your life. Once you have done enough practice, go to the bookstore and buy a yearly Biblical reading guide book to help you read the bible chronologically. Such books have a better reading plan that will help you read the whole Bible in 365 days.
