The Importance Of Antibody Conjugation

By Essie Osborn

In the medical field, most experimental processes are very costly and technical. Antibody Conjugation is one such process that is very important because through it is possible to perform invitro and in vivo studies that eventually help improve the services offered by the medical industry. Inlay mans perspective, this process is basically merging of antibodies with other elements in order to achieve a specific result and in this way eventually come up with a new method to cure disease. The elements combined with the antibodies could be either inanimate or living.

This kind of processes can only be carried out in ultra modern laboratories with enough resources and facilities since they are very complex. This only serves to make the processes very expensive to carry out, but the benefits of carrying out the processes successfully far outweigh the costs involved. This is because; through the process new and easy ways of dealing with harmful cells and bacteria in the body can be found.

There are some diseases which have affected people for so long without getting the right cure. With this process, it is now possible to come to the conclusion that a patient will get the healing. This is through some combinations of helpful radio-element with the antibodies where the unwanted cells are diagnosed and destroyed with immediate effect.

Moreover, antibodies are known to bind with crucial elements easily that can be used to destroy harmful bacteria like antibiotics. As such, they are used to transport the antibiotics to a place within the body that is infested with harmful bacteria which eventually results in eliminating them. This characteristic of the antibodies is the basis being used to rate this process highly when it comes to dealing with such bacteria.

A lot of time, money and effort from scientists have been spent as regards to the research of antibodies conjugation. This has been of great help since in the process of attaining the best results, more findings have been made. Currently, some of the most common medical tests that used to take a long time before their results come out now take only a while. All thanks to technology in the improvement of test kits which integrate the conjugation of enzymes.

The process has many benefits, but also some negative effects which one should get to know well. One, because of the way bacterial penetrate through this process, it is also easy for the harmful ones to multiply. If this occurs, it can be very dangerous for the patient since it means the disease will be much difficult to treat due to increased microorganism in the body.

Furthermore, the bacteria may be resistant to this kind of therapy. Studies have proven that the bacteria and the antibody may exchange DNA material resulting in muted bacteria that is resistant to normal treatment methods.

In conclusion, it is important to appreciate the benefits brought about by this process without forgetting its drawbacks. As such, great caution could be taken when carrying out research and studies related to this process so as to prevent terrorists and other malicious people bend on causing suffering to mankind from using this process to further their agenda.
