DBT refers to a dialectical behavior therapy which is a treatment model that was initially created to treat persons with severe chronic suicidal disorders. These individuals are those that have been diagnosed with the borderline personality disorder. They therefore experience unstable emotional conditions and can most times think of taking their own lives. Research has however shown that this treatment can however treat more disorders than this which it was originally developed for. The specialists concentrate on motivating their customers in applying different abilities to difficulties that they confront in their day by day lives. This type of treatment happens just once week after week in the case of a typical DBT model.

There is also the phone coaching therapy. This is aimed at providing the client with some at the moment coaching on how to apply skills effectively to handle difficult situations that arise in the day to day activities.
