The Best Quality Of Honeycomb Core Cutting Tools

Human beings have been imitating honeycombs in many of their structure for a very long time. They have even come up with special tools for this job. These tools have been given the name honeycomb core cutting tools. They are different from each other both in design and look due to the different functions they are meant for in the cutting process. Some of these tools are decoring cut, core cut, valve cut, pocket cut, foam cut, profile cut and panel cut.

Core cut consists of a shank, shredder and a certain special tool at the edge. It was specifically engineered to drill honeycomb materials with its special axis. The many sharp edges on this gadget are good for providing flexibility when it comes to moving from one cutting surface to the other depending on demand. Because of this flexibility, it can work on many composite machines.

The pocket cut is a tool deliberately made for machining slots, pockets and plunging applications on honeycombs. It has both radial and axial teeth which makes it the most appropriate tool for three axis machines. The three types of teeth will help deal with all problems on honeycomb materials.

The other type of cutter is known as valve type. This is a kind of device deliberately engineered to work on cut-offs dealing with chamfering. It is usually applied on every model of material. The most common working place for this device is shredding objects which do not require cut-offs. It is easy to operate on smooth chamfers with sheets of honeycomb in one attempt.

Profile cut combines several commonly used apparatus. They are deliberately designed to profile complicated regions. When one has tools, he can plunge material with ease due to the fact that the tools have edges which are all center cutting. The ball-like nose on the tools aids a smooth rotation. Like it is the case with valve cut, these gadgets have the radial teeth and axial teeth. They are, therefore, suitable for machines with three axes. In addition to this, they are capable of working on 5 axis equipment used in milling.

Foam cut is the next type of device. They are designed to work on solid foams and honeycombs that are potted with foam. Most of such devices have very sharp edges and rake-like edges. These allow easy evacuation of the chip. Powdered Cobalt metal is used in manufacturing all foam cut equipment. Their performance is enhanced using a coating. This coating also increases their life span, and also protects them from wear and tear.

The other type of tools is panel cut. These machines are designed in a manner that gives them the capability to machine light composite panels. They have the ability to drill through sandwich panels with no delaminating of glass and the skins made of carbon. Besides forming a clean surface at the end, these apparatus give high levels of feeds.

The last apparatus to be discussed is decoring tool. This one is deliberately designed for machining composite panels that are light in weight. It helps drill holes on panels and also undercut skins. A bond between panels, potting and inserts can also be achieved using these tools.
